Mike O’Shaughnessy currently serving in the Royal Air Force, over the years has spent nearly three years in various desert locations. He has been involved in the Gulf War, various roles in Afghanistan along with numerous other locations. His most memorable tour was when he was sent to Lithuania on a mission working with NATO Based in a town called Siauliai. It was here he met his future girlfriend Daiva paul smith mens Grant.
Mike never thought paul smith trainers that he would meet the love of his life in a very small town in a relatively unknown country, especially as he was going there to do a mission to protect Lithuania and other Baltic States from potential invasion from Russia.
They met one evening whilst Mike was out with work colleagues. For Daiva to go unnoticed would be impossible, tall, blonde and beautiful with blue eyes. Once Mike saw her on the dance floor, he knew she was the girl of his dreams, the girl he was looking for all his life. He saw in Daiva not just her beauty but, intelligence, strong character. Daiva introduced Mike to the culture, life style and history of Lithuania.
Less than 3 months later, Mike had to return to England, by this time they had grown very close to each other paul smith mens so they knew this couldn’t be the end of the romance. Over the next three years there were tough times ahead as they couldn’t be together as often as they would have liked. It was the hardest time of their lives being apart as they were so much in love, the distance was so long and it looked so impossible for them to be able to maintain the relationship due to their individual circumstances. Daiva was so patriotic towards her country, her life was busy with studying in university and being a director of a local company, she didn’t want to leave everything and move away from her home, family and friends to the unknown. Meanwhile Mike was overseas on various operations on such a regular basis to countries such as Afghanistan and the Gulf, their lives were so different. Whilst most relationships of this nature would break down, their love grew from strength to strength.
Eighteen months ago Mike moved away from his demanding operational duties and took a posting to RAF High Wycombe which gave him the opportunity to concentrate more on his personal life. Daiva and Mike are now living together in Kidderminster. Daiva found the change from Lithuania to England a little bit of a challenge to begin with. She soon settled in, they have now formed a successful company together locally called Interiors for Homes Ltd. This came about when they were looking to furnish their home and couldn’t find the modern styles and designs they paul smith trainers wanted. They found other companies had the same tired designs.
